Well, this sucks. I’m seriously debating not even putting it up on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! because I doubt most of you guys will want to pay $21 plus shipping for a T-shirt. I dunno though. I also plan on heavily revising !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I made awhile ago and submitting it to BS. I dunno though. This is a pretty big letdown, but hopefully at least one of the three or four places where I applied for a job this summer will call me back. The sticker probably won’t be done until after exams though.

$21 plus shipping is a deal compared to most Cafepress/Zazzle shirts I’ve bought. Even moreso if that’s the long sleeve price. Go for it! (can you add “Dude” to the bottom of the oval? IMHO, it would resonate more)

Damn, that sucks. I’m doubtful that the other artist’s design is better than that one. Is there a financial risk associated with putting it out there on Redbubble? If not, I say go for it! Doesn’t hurt to get some of your stuff out there.

You can lower your cut to make it cheaper (I sell mine for pretty cheap as they’re only basic designs).

Other than reaching way less people than BS, no. In fact I actually get at least $2.59 a shirt compared to $1 per from BS, but BS would sell way more shirts than my Redbubble. An FP share would be nice but it’s not like that’s gonna happen. And I appreciate the compliment, man!

I’ve gotten a lot of “Thanks but no thanks” emails from BS. It happens. In fact, I had what I thought was an above average Chaparral idea but it got denied because they had another Chaparral shirt coming up.

I’ve had one idea actually get the green light, but circumstances are keeping it from happening and at some point it just won’t be timely or make sense.

It’s tough, and I think it’s about to get tougher because they’re segmenting their shirts a bit more (Tuesdays are motorcycle days and Thursdays are off-road/4x4 days), meaning there are less opportunities to get general automotive ideas through.

I know it sucks for a great idea to not get picked up. Best thing I can tell you is to just keep trying. Be creative, try not to tread too closely on any trademarks, and be timely. I think things that make sense in the now and might not in a few weeks get pushed to the front.

I’ve submitted a lot of designs to them, and only had one submitted. It’s hard, especially when you realize tons of artists are constantly submitting art/ideas.

Haha yeah. Some designs make it any you just think ‘WTF?’ They’re also either not consistent on the whole trademarked logos thing or some companies simply don’t mind being parodied.

I wouldn’t say less necessarily. If things stick to M, W, F as they are theres not really a change in the car design submission so much as an increase in the variety of submissions accepted.
